Melissa Walker, Ph.D.
I earned my Ph.D. in Medical Neuroscience at Indiana University School of Medicine, focusing on spinal cord injury repair. I earned my B.S. from UCLA in Neuroscience focusing on genetic diseases and their influence on the nervous system. I am a writer covering many areas, but specializing in science and medicine. My writing and editing include grants, scientific protocols, experimental design, literature review papers, primary research articles, online Journal of Visualized Experiments surgical video protocols, abstracts, posters, and a children’s book. I have written approximately 14 grants, earning a National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (T32) Training Grant, an international Individual Research grant from the Wing for Life Spinal Cord Injury Foundation (Austria), a renewal of the Wings for Life grant, and several smaller educational enhancement grants/travel grants from Indiana University.
